

Strategic environmental assessment in Madagascar
RBA advisor Roel Slootweg assisted in the introduction of strategic environmental assessment as a means to bring together conflicting interests of a mining company, tourism industry, local farmers and nature conservation in Madagascar. Participants appreciated the approach as they were able to talk with their ‘opponents’ for three days in a constructive manner, without getting into an argument.


Responsible Business Advisors at the International Association for Impact Assessment
RBA partners Peter Croal and Roel Slootweg attended the annual conference of the International Association for Impact Assessment, this year in Montreal. Peter Croal gave three presentations, chaired one session and acted as a host and guide for 18 participants in the Norwegian oil for development programme! RBA goes to China with Prime Minister
The Norwegian Prime Minister and the Minister of trade and industry bring along 225 business delegates on a four-day tour to China. RBA Advisor Gunelie Winum who has worked with international labour standards for 15 years, participate in the delegation to promote Responsible Business Conduct in general and in particular her own expert field: "the business case for decent work and social dialogue at the workplace".
