RBA advisor Roel Slootweg assisted in the introduction of strategic environmental assessment as a means to bring together conflicting interests of a mining company, tourism industry, local farmers and nature conservation in Madagascar. Participants appreciated the approach as they were able to talk with their ‘opponents’ for three days in a constructive manner, without getting into an argument.
RBA partners Peter Croal and Roel Slootweg attended the annual conference of the International Association for Impact Assessment, this year in Montreal. RBA Advisor Gunelie Winum who has worked with international labour standards for 15 years, participate in the delegation to promote Responsible Business Conduct in general and in particular her own expert field: "the business case for decent work and social dialogue at the workplace".
