Procurement policies matter!

Responsible Business Advisor Gunelie Winum reminded businesses on the importance of a purchasing company's own procurement policies for producers to achieve compliance. Purchasers need to think carefully through how their price ceilings, timing, planning, preparation, requests for special materials, the way they place their orders influence on their suppliers' ability to comply with human rights, labour rights, environment and transparency standards. The lessons is that Responsible Business Conduct in the supply chain starts at home!
